Ryan's departure.

As many people already know, Ryan Kelly as of this morning, announced that he would be leaving Celtic Thunder.

Yesterday, we all watched as he shut down all of his accounts, both facebooks, and then, his twitter, which worried everyone immensely. Then this morning, i woke to find a blog, which I will post here.


A Massive Word Of Thanks... - May 12, 2011

Hey everyone,

I’ve made a personal decision I want to share with you all. Today I approached Sharon to inform her that, after a lot of personal reflection about my future, I have decided to take a step back from Celtic Thunder and the public life that goes along with being part of it.

The last four years have been an incredible journey for me, one which I have shared with the most amazing people. I want to thank everyone I have worked with along the way – to Sharon, Phil, Dave, all the band members and crew, and of course George, Paul, Keith, Damian, Neil and Emmet – proud to say all my lifelong friends.

A special word of thanks of course, to you – the people I’ve met and who have showed me so much kindness and support over the years, both through Celtic Thunder and more recently through my solo endeavours. I will never forget all you have done for me.

Incidentally, my PO Box here will be closing as well. Again, thanks for so many kind gifts. cards and letters over the years. You were always way too kind.

I’m certainly leaving Celtic Thunder in great hands and I know this Fall Tour promises to be the best yet!

So, for now, all is left for me to say is Go raibh mile maith agat.

We are all very sad to see him go, both from Celtic Thunder, and from the public Media. He was hilarious, and a wonderful voice addition. Hopefully, if and when he comes out with a solo CD, Anna, or Sharon, and the lads, will keep us posted.

We will not be promoting conspiracy theories here. Ryan left for a reason. If he chooses to tell us these reasons, so be it. If not, then we just have to live with it. We will not sit here and pick it apart. let us just say we miss, and support him.
